    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                          Beverly Nix Coiner
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas and the citizens
    1-6  of San Antonio were deeply saddened to learn of the recent death
    1-7  of prominent citizen Beverly Nix Coiner who died at the age of 52;
    1-8  and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Born on October 6, 1942, he showed early signs of
   1-10  his gregarious nature and was highly popular with his classmates;
   1-11  his enthusiasm for life would continue unabated throughout the years
   1-12  allotted him; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, A man with a talent for advertising, he enjoyed his
   1-14  position as a copywriter with Ogilvy and Mather in New York City
   1-15  and was the founder of Ad Works in San Antonio; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Creative Director and partner with Ed Yardang and
   1-17  Associates, he was the winner of many awards for creative excellence;
   1-18  and
   1-19        WHEREAS, Beverly Nix Coiner made a significant contribution to
   1-20  the sports world by founding the acclaimed San Antonio Grand Prix;
   1-21  and
   1-22        WHEREAS, A sociable gentleman, Beverly Nix Coiner was a member
   1-23  of several prominent clubs, among them were the Saint Anthony Club
    2-1  of New York City, the German Club, the Order of the Alamo, and the
    2-2  Argyle Club; and
    2-3        WHEREAS, His high spirits and infectious laughter brought joy
    2-4  into the hearts of all he encountered; and
    2-5        WHEREAS, A man of humor, strength, and generosity, he gave
    2-6  unselfishly of his time to others; and
    2-7        WHEREAS, Beverly Nix Coiner lived his life to the fullest, and
    2-8  his memory will remain cherished in the hearts of those whose lives
    2-9  he touched; now, therefore, be it
   2-10        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-11  74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the members
   2-12  of his family:  his wife, Kathy; his son, Beverly Nix Coiner, Jr.;
   2-13  and his brothers, William L. Coiner and Richard T. Coiner; and, be
   2-14  it further
   2-15        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
   2-16  members of his family as an expression of profound sympathy from
   2-17  the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it
   2-18  do so in memory of Beverly Nix Coiner.
