    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to
    1-3  foster continued expressions of amity and goodwill between the
    1-4  United States and Mexico; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, A sharing of their cultural and legal ties has
    1-6  characterized the colorful history and rich association of Texans
    1-7  and their neighbors to the south; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, For over 20 years, the exchange program between
    1-9  The University of Texas School of Law and the Law School of the
   1-10  University of Guanajuato in Mexico has presented a unique
   1-11  opportunity for Texas students to become familiar with the legal
   1-12  system of Mexico; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, Providing a basis for enhanced understanding of the
   1-14  economic, political, and social relationships that exist between
   1-15  the United States and Mexico, the exchange program is worthy of
   1-16  legislative commendation; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, It is truly appropriate that the Texas Senate extend
   1-18  warm greetings to Edna Aguilar Dominguez, Marco Antonio Barajas
   1-19  Castillo, Silvia Fabiola Ochoa Martinez, Maria Iliana Cabildo
   1-20  Chavez, Adriana Alvarez Rendon, Orlando Gutierrez Mejia, Jose

   2-11        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-12  74th Legislature, hereby declare these worthy individuals to
   2-13  be honorary citizens of Texas with all attendant rights and
   2-14  privileges; and, be it further
   2-15        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-16  the visiting delegation of the Guanajuato Exchange Program as an
   2-17  expression of the high regard of the Texas Senate.
