    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in
    1-3  recognizing Gary Greenstreet for his 10 years of loyal service
    1-4  on the Board of Directors of the South Plains Children's Shelter,
    1-5  Incorporated; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Since joining the Board of Directors of the South
    1-7  Plains Children's Shelter, Incorporated, in January of 1985,
    1-8  Gary Greenstreet has given generously of his time, energy, and
    1-9  funds to the shelter and has helped to significantly expand the
   1-10  fund-raising efforts on its behalf; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, He served as president of the board in 1988 and
   1-12  has played a major role in creating and organizing the facility's
   1-13  Transitional Living Program which is located at Murfee House; the
   1-14  program offers teenagers in foster care an opportunity to learn
   1-15  the skills necessary to become productive and responsible adults;
   1-16  and
   1-17        WHEREAS, Mr. Greenstreet designed Murfee House, served as
   1-18  the general contractor during its construction, and contributed his
   1-19  time and money to the project; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, In addition to serving as an outstanding
   1-21  administrator, Gary Greenstreet has been enthusiastically involved
   1-22  with the children and has participated in their activities, which
   1-23  include roller skating parties and "Yard Day" projects; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, During Gary Greenstreet's tenure on the board, he
    2-2  has made countless contributions to the shelter and to the children
    2-3  of Texas, and through his hard work and generosity, he has touched
    2-4  the lives of many; now, therefore, be it
    2-5        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-6  74th Legislature, hereby commend Gary Greenstreet for his
    2-7  invaluable accomplishments while serving on the Board of Directors
    2-8  of the South Plains Children's Shelter, Incorporated, and in honor
    2-9  of his work declare April 13, 1995, as Gary Greenstreet Day; and,
   2-10  be it further
   2-11        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-12  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
