    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                              Ruth Utzman
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas was saddened to
    1-6  learn of the recent death of Ruth Utzman who died March 24, 1995,
    1-7  in Goldthwaite; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, She was born on January 1, 1899, at Williams Ranch,
    1-9  the sixth of 12 children of Joseph Chris and Mary Huffman who were
   1-10  longtime residents of Mills County; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, She married Alcie Utzman on November 21, 1921, in
   1-12  Goldthwaite; except for a brief period when she and her husband
   1-13  moved to West Texas, she was a lifelong resident of Mills County;
   1-14  and
   1-15        WHEREAS, A woman with strong religious convictions, she held
   1-16  to her very personal, private beliefs and her faith in God; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, Devoted to her family, Mrs. Utzman is remembered for
   1-18  the affection, confidence, and loyalty she inspired in those with
   1-19  whom she was associated; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, During her lifetime, she established a permanent
   1-21  place for herself in the hearts of those who lived and worked with
   1-22  her; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, She leaves a legacy of compassion and commitment
    2-1  that will be remembered with gratitude by her family and loved ones;
    2-2  now, therefore, be it
    2-3        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-4  74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to her
    2-5  family:  her children, Oleta Kesler, Raymond Utzman, Carl Utzman,
    2-6  Charles Utzman, Patsy Runnels, and Leslie Utzman; her
    2-7  daughter-in-law, G'Nell Utzman; her brother, Jim Huffman; her
    2-8  sister, Lula Mae Horton; her sister-in-law, Arleta Huffman; her
    2-9  stepsister, Oreta Sanders; and her more than 75 grandchildren and
   2-10  great-grandchildren; and, be it further
   2-11        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-12  her loved ones as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
   2-13  Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it
   2-14  do so in memory of Ruth Utzman.
