No. 666 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, Leland White of Tahoka has served with distinction 1-3 as Texas Farm Bureau State Director for the past six years, and 1-4 the Texas Senate is pleased to join the Texas Farm Bureau in 1-5 expressing appreciation to him for his exemplary leadership 1-6 throughout his tenure; and 1-7 WHEREAS, Director White and his lovely wife, Barbara, were 1-8 recently recognized at a special occasion in their honor for their 1-9 notable contributions to the citizens of Texas; and 1-10 WHEREAS, A 1950 graduate of New Home High School, Mr. White 1-11 produces cotton and feed grains in Lynn County; he has contributed 1-12 his expertise to the Lynn County Farm Bureau as State Affairs 1-13 Chairman and as Vice-President and President of the organization; 1-14 and 1-15 WHEREAS, Elected to the Texas Farm Bureau Board of Directors 1-16 in 1988, he has served as a member of the Labor Advisory Committee 1-17 and the Resolutions Committee and as Chairman of the Rural Health 1-18 Committee; and 1-19 WHEREAS, A leader of great energy and enthusiasm, Leland White 1-20 has freely offered his time and talents as Director of the New Home 1-21 Co-op Gin and as President of the Lynn County Hospital District; 1-22 for his exceptional accomplishments, he was named "Man of the Year" 1-23 in 1964 by the New Home Civic Club; and 2-1 WHEREAS, A member of the Methodist Church, Mr. White is a 2-2 dedicated Christian layman who has served as a trustee, chairman of 2-3 the finance committee, treasurer, and Sunday school superintendent; 2-4 and 2-5 WHEREAS, Throughout his distinguished career, he has been 2-6 supported by the love and companionship of his wife, Barbara, and 2-7 their children, Michael and Debbie; now, therefore, be it 2-8 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-9 74th Legislature, hereby commend Leland White for his noteworthy 2-10 achievements as State Director of the Texas Farm Bureau and extend 2-11 best wishes to him for continued success in his future endeavors; 2-12 and, be it further 2-13 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him 2-14 as an expression of the high esteem of the Texas Senate. 2-15 ______________________________________ 2-16 President of the Senate 2-17 I hereby certify that the above 2-18 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-19 on April 10, 1995. 2-20 ______________________________________ 2-21 Secretary of the Senate 2-22 ______________________________________ 2-23 Member, Texas Senate
