    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, Birthdays are occasions to be joyously
    1-3  celebrated, and so it was for Nancy Stafford of Mexia, Texas,
    1-4  on January 18, 1995, when she was the guest of honor on her
    1-5  special day; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, This being her 100th birthday, she has been
    1-7  privileged to live through events most of us only read about
    1-8  in history books; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Blessed with a loving nature, Nancy has earned
   1-10  respect and friendship from all who know her; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Her warm smile and gentle manner have endeared her
   1-12  to those whose lives she has touched during her long sojourn in
   1-13  this world; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Residents and staff of Mexia State School, where
   1-15  Nancy has been a resident since 1950, gathered to honor her in
   1-16  a manner befitting the event; now, therefore, be it
   1-17        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-18  74th Legislature, hereby recognize Nancy Stafford as a treasured
   1-19  citizen of her town and state, wishing her continued health and
   1-20  happiness; and, be it further
   1-21        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be sent to Nancy as
   1-22  a token of esteem from the Texas Senate.
