    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary is a splendid occasion
    1-3  and calls for much celebration; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, The Reverend and Mrs. Marvin Simms of Marlin, Texas,
    1-5  have reason to rejoice; since their marriage on February 3, 1945,
    1-6  in Gatesville, Texas, Katie and Marvin have spent 50 years together
    1-7  in loyalty and devotion; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, The friends of this beloved couple joined them on
    1-9  January 28, 1995, at the Junior Chamber of Commerce building to
   1-10  congratulate them and share in their warmth and joy; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, The loving respect Katie and Marvin share with one
   1-12  another is evident to all who are fortunate enough to know them;
   1-13  and
   1-14        WHEREAS, The Reverend Simms is retired from Fort Hood
   1-15  Civil Service telephone exchange and has been pastor of the Gospel
   1-16  Tabernacle since 1959; throughout his career, he has been supported
   1-17  by the love and companionship of his wife, Katie; now, therefore,
   1-18  be it
   1-19        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-20  74th Legislature, hereby join the relatives and friends of the
   1-21  Reverend and Mrs. Marvin Simms in extending them best wishes
   1-22  and congratulations on their golden wedding anniversary; and,
   1-23  be it further
    2-1        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-2  this distinguished couple as a memento of this grand occasion.
