    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                          John C. Barron, Jr.
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
    1-6  citizens of San Angelo in mourning the passing of esteemed rancher
    1-7  and community leader John C. "Buddy" Barron, Jr., who died on
    1-8  April 2, 1995, at the age of 74; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Well known throughout the ranching community,
   1-10  Mr. Barron will be remembered with gratitude for his important
   1-11  contributions to his profession; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, John Barron was born in San Angelo on May 26, 1920,
   1-13  and was the beloved son of John C. and Ruby Hudson Barron; after
   1-14  graduating from San Angelo High School, Buddy served his country
   1-15  for three years during World War II in the armed forces; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, After the war, he returned to the Barron Ranch
   1-17  southeast of San Angelo and spent the rest of his life raising
   1-18  registered Hereford cattle and pure-bred Rambouillet sheep; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, Deeply involved in all phases of the ranching
   1-20  profession, Buddy Barron was a director of the Tom Green County
   1-21  Farm Bureau for 18 years; he was also an honorary life director
   1-22  of the Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers Association; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, Recognized as an expert in his field, Mr. Barron
    2-1  was a longtime member of the Texas Hereford Association and American
    2-2  Hereford Association; and
    2-3        WHEREAS, The Tom Green County Junior Livestock Show also
    2-4  benefitted from his loyalty and outstanding leadership; for more
    2-5  than 20 years he served as a committee member, freely giving of
    2-6  his time and energies; and
    2-7        WHEREAS, His wise counsel and sound judgment will be greatly
    2-8  missed by all those who had the honor of knowing him and benefitting
    2-9  from his generosity; now, therefore, be it
   2-10        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-11  74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the family
   2-12  of John C. "Buddy" Barron, Jr.:  his sisters, Helen Green and
   2-13  Betty Dusek; and his five nieces and nephews; and, be it further
   2-14        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-15  the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from
   2-16  the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it
   2-17  do so in memory of John C. Barron.
