    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes great
    1-3  pleasure in recognizing the Texas College women's volleyball team
    1-4  for its remarkable achievements during its 1994-1995 regular season
    1-5  and in the Interregional Athletic Conference competition; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Under the inspiring and capable leadership of
    1-7  Coach Libbie Tuck Jackson, who was voted Interregional Athletic
    1-8  Conference Coach of the Year, the Texas College squad enjoyed a
    1-9  highly successful year with a season record of eight wins and six
   1-10  losses and a conference record of six wins and no losses; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Their impressive record is a tribute to the women's
   1-12  outstanding talent and the loyal enthusiasm they consistently
   1-13  displayed during each game; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, The Texas College women's volleyball team devoted
   1-15  many hours to practicing the fundamental skills of the game and
   1-16  exercised individual discipline which was apparent in their
   1-17  excellent showing against their opponents throughout the season; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, The team's unprecedented success has been
   1-19  attributable not only to the outstanding guidance by their coach
   1-20  but also to the exceptional athletic ability, selfless team spirit,
   1-21  and the competitive desire that has characterized the play of team
   1-22  members Ulonda Bailey, Sonya Chatman, Tammy Faggett, DeWanda Hurd,
   1-23  Sharlette Mask, Lakisha Tims, Patrice Johnson, and Errica Jones,
    2-1  and to the support they have enjoyed from their loyal fans; and
    2-2        WHEREAS, With their splendid athletic performances in both
    2-3  district and conference play, these young women have brought honor
    2-4  and prestige to the students and faculty of Texas College in Tyler,
    2-5  and their notable success is truly worthy of recognition; now,
    2-6  therefore, be it
    2-7        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-8  74th Legislature, hereby extend hearty congratulations to
    2-9  Coach Libbie Tuck Jackson and the Texas College women's volleyball
   2-10  team for their victorious 1994-1995 season; and, be it further
   2-11        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
   2-12  team members and their coach with all best wishes for continued
   2-13  success in their future endeavors.
