    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to extend
    1-3  congratulations to Dr. Kyle Grant Wilkison of Commerce, Texas, on
    1-4  his notable achievement; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Dr. Wilkison recently graduated with a doctor of
    1-6  philosophy degree in history from Vanderbilt University and plans to
    1-7  teach at the university level in Texas; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Born in Hopkins County, Texas, on July 24, 1960,
    1-9  Dr. Wilkison is a graduate of Greenville High School and earned his
   1-10  bachelor's and master's degrees in history with highest honors from
   1-11  East Texas State University; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Sharing his interests in the field of history is his
   1-13  wife, Debra Greenwell Wilkison, who also has a degree in history
   1-14  from East Texas State University; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, The father of two fine children, Dr. Wilkison is
   1-16  proud of their accomplishments; his son, Mitchell Leathers, is a
   1-17  star baseball pitcher for the Commerce High School Tigers, and his
   1-18  daughter, Jennifer Leathers, is an education major at East Texas
   1-19  State University; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, Dr. Wilkison contributes his time and abilities
   1-21  to Phi Alpha Theta, the American Historical Association, and the
   1-22  Southern Historical Association; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, Other family members joining in the congratulations
    2-1  are his father and stepmother, Charles and Wanda Wilkison of
    2-2  Greenville, Texas; his mother, Mildred Wilkison of Winfield, Texas;
    2-3  and his brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Shelly Wilkison,
    2-4  nephew, Charles Birk Wilkison, and niece, Claire Elizebeth Wilkison,
    2-5  all of Laneville, Texas; now, therefore, be it
    2-6        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-7  74th Legislature, hereby extend best wishes and congratulations
    2-8  to Dr. Kyle Grant Wilkison for continued success in his future
    2-9  endeavors; and, be it further
   2-10        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him
   2-11  as a memento of this special event in his life.
