    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, Texans are widely known for their civic pride and
    1-3  social involvement; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, The Council for the Betterment of Cameron has
    1-5  recently been selected as winner of the Outstanding Community
    1-6  Involvement Award by the Cameron Area Chamber of Commerce at
    1-7  its recent annual dinner; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, The council was organized three years ago by a small
    1-9  group of local business people; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, The purpose of the Council for the Betterment of
   1-11  Cameron is to promote Cameron with special emphasis on the downtown
   1-12  area; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, The group has sponsored numerous, highly successful
   1-14  downtown festivals; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, Committed to fostering excellent relations between
   1-16  the business community and the residents of Cameron, the Council
   1-17  for the Betterment of Cameron has contributed greatly to the growth
   1-18  and prosperity of Cameron; now, therefore, be it
   1-19        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-20  74th Legislature, hereby commend the Council for the Betterment
   1-21  of Cameron on winning the Outstanding Community Involvement Award;
   1-22  and, be it further
   1-23        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
    2-1  group as an expression of the highest regard of the Texas Senate.
