1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION
1-2 WHEREAS, Birthdays are occasions to be joyously celebrated,
1-3 and so it was for Ellie K. McKenzie of Madisonville on Sunday,
1-4 March 12, 1995, when she was the guest of honor on her special
1-5 day; and
1-6 WHEREAS, This being her 95th birthday, she has been
1-7 privileged to witness events most of us only read about in
1-8 history books; and
1-9 WHEREAS, The blessings of her long sojourn in this world
1-10 are evident as she recalls tales of years past; Mrs. McKenzie
1-11 has earned respect and friendship from all who know her; and
1-12 WHEREAS, Still an active and vital member of her community,
1-13 she is noted for her exemplary enthusiasm for living each day to
1-14 the fullest; and
1-15 WHEREAS, Friends and relatives of this beloved matriarch
1-16 gathered at the Sierra Health Care Facility in Cuero to honor
1-17 her in a manner befitting the event; now, therefore, be it
1-18 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
1-19 74th Legislature, hereby recognize Mrs. Ellie K. McKenzie as a
1-20 treasured citizen of her town and state, wishing her many more
1-21 years of health and happiness; and, be it further
1-22 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be sent to
1-23 Mrs. McKenzie as a token of esteem from the Texas Senate.
