    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Orange County Airport has been selected as
    1-3  the Airport of the Year for 1995 by the Texas Department of
    1-4  Transportation, and the Texas Senate is proud to extend
    1-5  congratulations on this notable achievement; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, This exceptional recognition reflects the
    1-7  Orange County community's commitment to a job well done in
    1-8  all aspects of owning a general aviation airport; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, In order to achieve this award, the Orange County
   1-10  Airport had to meet certain criteria set forth by the aviation
   1-11  division of the Texas Department of Transportation; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, The Orange County Airport is well maintained and
   1-13  shows honest efforts to uphold high safety standards; the airport
   1-14  board and the airport manager work as a team to improve and maintain
   1-15  the facility; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Reflecting the spirit of the airport, the adjacent
   1-17  landowners cooperate fully with the county; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, To satisfy the needs of the sponsor, the consultant
   1-19  airport engineers have gone beyond the professional services
   1-20  agreements; fixed base operators provide the expected services
   1-21  including instruction, rental, fuel, courtesy cars, rental cars,
   1-22  and maps; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, Orange County has worked well with the Federal
    2-1  Aviation Administration and the governing state aviation agency
    2-2  throughout the history of the airport; the exceptional efforts
    2-3  of all parties involved with the airport are apparent when the
    2-4  flying public lands at the Orange County Airport; and
    2-5        WHEREAS, On April 28, 1995, the Orange County Airport will
    2-6  receive the "Airport of the Year" award at the TAOC Luncheon in
    2-7  recognition of its outstanding achievement; now, therefore, be it
    2-8        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-9  74th Legislature, hereby commend the Orange County Airport for
   2-10  providing a safe and efficient facility for its customers and
   2-11  extend best wishes for continued success in the future; and, be
   2-12  it further
   2-13        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-14  the airport staff as an expression of the high regard of the
   2-15  Texas Senate.
