    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Fourth Annual Dance for Hispanic Seniors will be
    1-3  held on April 28, 1995, at the Denver Harbor Park Gymnasium for the
    1-4  benefit of retired citizens, and the Texas Senate is pleased to
    1-5  recognize those who make the festive occasion possible; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Through events such as the annual dance, seniors are
    1-7  afforded the opportunity to participate more fully in the life of
    1-8  their communities; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Sponsored by Secure Horizons, Savings of America,
   1-10  and Super Tejano 108 FM, the Fourth Annual Dance provides partygoers
   1-11  with lively Tejano music to dance by, refreshments, door prizes, and
   1-12  individual or couple photographs; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, As senior citizens continue to live longer, they
   1-14  enjoy healthier and more productive lives and contribute their
   1-15  skills through volunteer work in their neighborhoods; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, The annual dance for senior citizens is supported by
   1-17  the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program; the mission of the program
   1-18  is to provide a variety of opportunities for retired persons aged 55
   1-19  or older to participate more fully in the life of their community
   1-20  through significant volunteer service; now, therefore, be it
   1-21        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-22  74th Legislature, hereby recognize the Fourth Annual Dance for
   1-23  Hispanic Seniors and extend best wishes to the participants for a
    2-1  most enjoyable get-together; and, be it further
    2-2        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as a
    2-3  memento of this pleasant affair.
