No. 843 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in 1-3 recognizing Leslie Hill, who has been selected as the Outstanding 1-4 Woman of the Year by the Taylor Chamber of Commerce; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Mrs. Hill works for TU Electric and is well known 1-6 for the time and energy she so generously gives to the Taylor 1-7 community; and 1-8 WHEREAS, A resourceful woman of many talents, Mrs. Hill 1-9 served as the first president of Head Start, helped initiate the 1-10 local NAACP Back-to-School, Stay-in-School project, and obtained 1-11 the first grant to renovate the Community Center; and 1-12 WHEREAS, She is active in the Taylor Chamber of Commerce, 1-13 the Woodson-Dickey History Club, the National Women's Political 1-14 Caucus, and the Taylor Beautification Committee; and 1-15 WHEREAS, An exemplary and distinguished lady, Leslie Hill is 1-16 a highly respected leader in the Taylor community, and through her 1-17 exceptional talent and generosity, she touches the lives of many; 1-18 now, therefore, be it 1-19 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-20 74th Legislature, hereby commend Leslie Hill on her superior 1-21 achievements and extend congratulations to her on earning the 1-22 Outstanding Woman of the Year award; and, be it further 1-23 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-1 her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. 2-2 ______________________________________ 2-3 President of the Senate 2-4 I hereby certify that the above 2-5 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-6 on April 27, 1995. 2-7 ______________________________________ 2-8 Secretary of the Senate 2-9 ______________________________________ 2-10 Member, Texas Senate
