    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Black Data Processing Associates is a national,
    1-3  nonprofit organization of professionals within the information
    1-4  technology industry; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Black Data Processing Associates has over 50
    1-6  chapters across the nation; these chapters assist minority students
    1-7  in entering career paths associated with the information technology
    1-8  industry; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, The Dallas chapter was chartered as the 21st member
   1-10  of the national organization in September, 1987; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, The Dallas chapter has conducted community-wide
   1-12  educational programs and computer literacy programs and prepared
   1-13  youth for a future in the business and technology industry; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, The Black Data Processing Associates, Dallas Chapter,
   1-15  will host its Seventh Annual Scholarship Banquet on April 29, 1995,
   1-16  at the Harvey Hotel-Addison to recognize outstanding high school
   1-17  and undergraduate students for their educational and academic
   1-18  achievements; now, therefore, be it
   1-19        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-20  74th Legislature, hereby proclaim April 29, 1995, as Black Data
   1-21  Processing Associates Day in Dallas and urge all Dallas-Fort Worth
   1-22  metroplex citizens to recognize the outstanding contributions this
   1-23  chapter has made to our city; and, be it further
    2-1        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
    2-2  Black Data Processing Associates as an expression of the high regard
    2-3  of the Texas Senate.
