    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
    1-3  recognize Miss Jennifer Ruud who has been selected for participation
    1-4  in the eighth Texas Career and Technology Education Awards Program;
    1-5  and
    1-6        WHEREAS, This program identifies and recognizes outstanding
    1-7  achievements by students in career and technology education and
    1-8  alumni of these programs, as well as public and private sector
    1-9  partnerships of business, industry, and labor organizations that
   1-10  support the programs; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Jennifer is a senior at Duncanville High School who
   1-12  has taken honors level courses since her freshman year; she has
   1-13  been active on the tennis team all four years; she is also editor
   1-14  of Class Magazine; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, This outstanding young woman is very interested in
   1-16  the field of business; she has taken computer applications courses
   1-17  for the last two years and has been extremely successful in these
   1-18  subjects; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, During these two years, she has made an A each six
   1-20  weeks and has mastered numerous software packages; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, Jennifer has many honors to her credit, manages
   1-22  her time well, and enjoys participating in many extracurricular
   1-23  activities; in addition to her very full schedule, she has held a
    2-1  part-time job during the last three years; certainly this promising
    2-2  young woman is worthy of legislative recognition; now, therefore,
    2-3  be it
    2-4        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-5  74th Legislature, hereby congratulate Miss Jennifer Ruud on being
    2-6  selected to participate in the Texas Career and Technology Education
    2-7  Awards Program; and, be it further
    2-8        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
    2-9  as an expression of the highest esteem of the Texas Senate.
