    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to
    1-3  recognize Erik J. Gobel of Nacogdoches who was recently elected
    1-4  president of the Student Government Association at Stephen F. Austin
    1-5  State University; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, In an impressive showing, the popular junior garnered
    1-7  58 percent of the student vote in an election held April 11, 1995;
    1-8  and
    1-9        WHEREAS, A diligent and hardworking young man, Erik plans to
   1-10  address the issues of phone registration, the prayer policy at
   1-11  football games, and residency requirements; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Erik is an outstanding student with a wide range of
   1-13  interests, and it is highly commendable that he is taking time away
   1-14  from his studies in pursuit of these very worthwhile goals on behalf
   1-15  of the students at Stephen F. Austin State University; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, His dedication and commitment to his university and
   1-17  to his fellow students reveal a special person with exceptional
   1-18  promise; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, Erik's drive, ambition, and intelligence are readily
   1-20  apparent to all who know him, and he is destined to be one of our
   1-21  state's future leaders; now, therefore, be it
   1-22        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-23  74th Legislature, hereby extend best wishes to Erik J. Gobel for a
    2-1  memorable and productive year as president of the Student Government
    2-2  Association; and, be it further
    2-3        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for Erik
    2-4  as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
