    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                             Douglas Frye
    1-5        WHEREAS, With great sorrow the Senate of the State of Texas
    1-6  noted the passing of Douglas Frye of Lubbock, who died Tuesday,
    1-7  April 4, 1995, at age 80; he will be deeply mourned by his friends
    1-8  and family; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, This highly respected gentleman lived many years in
   1-10  Friona, where he was active in the First Baptist Church as well as
   1-11  in the Friona and Lubbock Senior Citizens; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Mr. Frye was a true son of his native soil, engaged
   1-13  in farming and raising a fine family; he was privileged to witness
   1-14  events that most of us only read about in history books, and his
   1-15  versatility and keen judgment allowed him to adapt successfully to
   1-16  the vast changes in agriculture and in the whole structure of
   1-17  society; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, Upon moving to Lubbock in 1992, his outgoing demeanor
   1-19  and ability to socialize immediately gained him new friends; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, His steadiness of purpose, his devotion to family,
   1-21  and his ability to live each day to the fullest will long be
   1-22  cherished by those who knew him; now, therefore, be it
   1-23        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-1  74th Legislature, hereby express sincere condolences to the
    2-2  members of his family:  his wife, Georgia Tarter Frye; his son,
    2-3  Charles Frye; his daughters, Betsy Stanfield, Lynn Dailey, and
    2-4  Cheryl Franke; his sisters, Lois Woodring and Lorene Tucknies;
    2-5  and his seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and, be
    2-6  it further
    2-7        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his
    2-8  family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate,
    2-9  and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
   2-10  Douglas Frye.
