    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary is a splendid occasion
    1-3  and calls for much celebration; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, Cliffa Jean Proffitt and Walter L. Slate of
    1-5  Big Spring have reason to rejoice; since their marriage on
    1-6  May 4, 1945, in Big Spring, Cliffa Jean and Walter have spent
    1-7  50 years together in loyalty and devotion; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, The loving respect Mr. and Mrs. Slate share with
    1-9  one another is evident to all who are fortunate enough to know
   1-10  them; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, This happy couple has been blessed with a
   1-12  wonderful family; they have two children, four grandchildren,
   1-13  and one great-grandchild; now, therefore, be it
   1-14        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-15  74th Legislature, hereby join the relatives and friends of
   1-16  Mr. and Mrs. Walter L. Slate in extending them best wishes and
   1-17  congratulations on their 50th wedding anniversary; and, be it
   1-18  further
   1-19        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   1-20  this distinguished couple as a memento of this grand occasion.
