By: Zaffirini S.R. No. 910 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, Catherine Wagner and Stuart M. Luce placed great 1-3 faith and trust in the future when they married on May 11, 1925, 1-4 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and they have been amply rewarded as they 1-5 recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary; and 1-6 WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during the years 1-7 of their marriage, yet Mr. and Mrs. Luce have steadfastly embraced 1-8 traditional family and moral values; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Over the years, they have grown stronger in their 1-10 love and devotion, as together they have experienced the joys and 1-11 sorrows of everyday living; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Luce have been blessed with a 1-13 wonderful family; their two daughters, 13 grandchildren, and 30 1-14 great-grandchildren have been a source of much pride and joy; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Mr. Luce formerly pioneered the fire extinguisher 1-16 industry across much of the southern half of our nation and is a 1-17 talented oil painter, whose works date back to 1914; and 1-18 WHEREAS, Mrs. Luce graduated from Saint Mary's Nursing School 1-19 in 1920 and is very active in Saint Pius X Catholic Church; the 1-20 couple resided in Dallas from 1945 until 1992 and now reside in 1-21 San Antonio; and 1-22 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Luce are sharing their happiness with 1-23 their family and friends at an anniversary party on May 13, 1995, 2-1 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Goebel; and 2-2 WHEREAS, The long and happy union of Mr. and Mrs. Luce is 2-3 truly an inspiration to us all; now, therefore, be it 2-4 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-5 74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to 2-6 Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Luce on their 70th wedding anniversary; and, 2-7 be it further 2-8 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-9 this distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in 2-10 their lives. 2-11 ______________________________________ 2-12 President of the Senate 2-13 I hereby certify that the above 2-14 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-15 on May 3, 1995. 2-16 ______________________________________ 2-17 Secretary of the Senate 2-18 ______________________________________ 2-19 Member, Texas Senate
