No. 929 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, Laura Godfrey and Allen Clapp placed great faith 1-3 and trust in the future when they married on May 12, 1945, in 1-4 Leicester, England, and they have been amply rewarded as they 1-5 recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary; and 1-6 WHEREAS, Allen Clapp was stationed with the Eighth Air 1-7 Force, 78th Fighter Group at Duxford Air Base, and after his 1-8 return to the United States, his wife arrived on the Queen Mary 1-9 along with several hundred GI brides; and 1-10 WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during the 1-11 years of their marriage, yet Mr. and Mrs. Clapp have steadfastly 1-12 embraced traditional family and moral values; and 1-13 WHEREAS, Over the years, they have grown stronger in their 1-14 love and devotion as together they have experienced the joys and 1-15 sorrows of everyday living; and 1-16 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Clapp have been blessed with a 1-17 wonderful family; their children, Donna Lynn Clapp Rimato 1-18 and Barry Godfrey Clapp, and their grandchildren, Brian Clapp, 1-19 Heather Rimato, Brett Rimato, and Lauren Rimato, have been a 1-20 source of much pride and joy; and 1-21 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Clapp are celebrating their 1-22 anniversary on May 12, 1995; and 1-23 WHEREAS, The long and happy union of Mr. and Mrs. Clapp 2-1 is truly an inspiration to us all; now, therefore, be it 2-2 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-3 74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to 2-4 Mr. and Mrs. Allen Clapp on their 50th wedding anniversary; 2-5 and, be it further 2-6 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-7 this distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in 2-8 their lives. 2-9 ______________________________________ 2-10 President of the Senate 2-11 I hereby certify that the above 2-12 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-13 on May 5, 1995. 2-14 ______________________________________ 2-15 Secretary of the Senate 2-16 ______________________________________ 2-17 Member, Texas Senate
