    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                          Genaro C. Rodriguez
    1-5        WHEREAS, The citizens of San Antonio mourned the passing of
    1-6  Genaro C. Rodriguez who died April 6, 1995, at the age of 73; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, Beloved by his family and friends, Mr. Rodriguez
    1-8  will be remembered for his devotion to his wife and children and
    1-9  for his dedication to his work; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, A native of San Antonio, Mr. Rodriguez was
   1-11  born on July 28, 1921, the eldest of four children; he married
   1-12  Esther Martinez in his hometown on July 16, 1938, and the couple
   1-13  became the devoted parents of two sons; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, During World War II, he served his country with
   1-15  honor for two years as a motor mechanic; after the war, he was
   1-16  employed by civil service at Kelly Air Force Base as an aircraft
   1-17  mechanic and served in that capacity for 42 years; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, An excellent mechanic who loved his profession,
   1-19  Mr. Rodriguez worked on all types of aircraft and traveled to
   1-20  other bases around the country to work on airplanes; he was a
   1-21  member of the American Federation of Government Employees at
   1-22  Kelly Air Force Base; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, During his spare time, he enjoyed rebuilding old
    2-1  cars for a hobby and loved the challenge of fixing them up so
    2-2  they ran again; and
    2-3        WHEREAS, His family was very important to him, and he was
    2-4  always there for assistance no matter how serious the problem;
    2-5  his wise counsel and sound judgment will be deeply missed by all
    2-6  those who benefitted from his support; and
    2-7        WHEREAS, A devout Christian who lived his faith in his daily
    2-8  life, Mr. Rodriguez had been a member of Saint Henry's Catholic
    2-9  Church since 1953; and
   2-10        WHEREAS, He leaves a legacy of compassion and commitment that
   2-11  will be cherished by all who loved him and valued his friendship;
   2-12  now, therefore, be it
   2-13        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-14  74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to
   2-15  the family of Genaro Rodriguez:  his wife, Esther; his sons,
   2-16  Joe Rodriguez and Robert Rodriguez; his sister, Alice Pena; his
   2-17  brother, Rudy Rodriguez; and his five grandchildren and two
   2-18  great-grandchildren; and, be it further
   2-19        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
   2-20  members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy, and when
   2-21  the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Genaro Rodriguez.
