No. 991 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in 1-3 recognizing Gerhard and Jonnie Schulz as outstanding citizens of 1-4 Texas who have made many contributions to the Republican Party; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Respected leaders in their community, Gerhard and 1-6 Jonnie Schulz have been active volunteers in Collin County, Texas, 1-7 and are now moving to Raleigh, North Carolina; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Gerhard has served as newsletter chairman for the 1-9 Collin County Men's Club for several years, and Jonnie has served 1-10 as president of the Plano Republican Women's Club; and 1-11 WHEREAS, In 1994, Jonnie was awarded the Collin County 1-12 Volunteer Award for supporting Republican candidates; and 1-13 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Schulz have co-chaired at least three 1-14 Republican phone banks and have spent many hours on volunteer work 1-15 for Senator Florence Shapiro; and 1-16 WHEREAS, Dedicated and hardworking citizens, both Jonnie 1-17 and Gerhard Schulz were presented the Republican County Chairman's 1-18 Award this year for their outstanding service to the Collin County 1-19 Republican Party; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Exemplary and talented individuals, Gerhard and 1-21 Jonnie Schulz have given generously of their time and energy to 1-22 the Republican Party and have been a source of strength in their 1-23 community; now, therefore, be it 2-1 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-2 74th Legislature, hereby commend Jonnie and Gerhard Schulz for 2-3 their excellent volunteer work on behalf of the Republican Party and 2-4 extend to them best wishes for the years ahead in North Carolina; 2-5 and, be it further 2-6 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for them 2-7 as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. 2-8 ______________________________________ 2-9 President of the Senate 2-10 I hereby certify that the above 2-11 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-12 on May 9, 1995. 2-13 ______________________________________ 2-14 Secretary of the Senate 2-15 ______________________________________ 2-16 Member, Texas Senate
