1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION
1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in
1-3 recognizing Anthony W. Hall, Jr., on his recent election to the
1-4 Junior Achievement National Board of Directors; and
1-5 WHEREAS, A member of the board of Junior Achievement of
1-6 Southeast Texas, Incorporated, Anthony Hall is a former Texas
1-7 state representative and is currently an attorney with the law
1-8 firm of Jackson and Walker in Houston, Texas; and
1-9 WHEREAS, A leader in his community and a longtime supporter
1-10 of the youths of Texas, Mr. Hall has a distinguished history of
1-11 public service and is exemplary of Junior Achievement's commitment
1-12 to helping the young people of America; and
1-13 WHEREAS, Active in a number of organizations, Anthony Hall
1-14 is a member of the board of the Houston Area United Negro College
1-15 Fund, the Houston Symphony, and the Sam Houston Area Council
1-16 Boy Scouts; and
1-17 WHEREAS, Junior Achievement is the largest, fastest-growing,
1-18 nonprofit economic education organization in the world, and it
1-19 currently reaches over 2.3 million elementary, middle, and high
1-20 school students in the United States and in over 80 countries
1-21 around the world; and
1-22 WHEREAS, Mr. Hall brings a wealth of experience and knowledge
1-23 to his position on the Junior Achievement National Board of
2-1 Directors; he is the recipient of a number of notable awards,
2-2 including the Barbara Jordan Leadership Award in Law and the
2-3 Father of the Year Award from the Board of Directors of Community
2-4 Partners; and
2-5 WHEREAS, A distinguished gentleman who gives generously of
2-6 his time to the betterment of his community and to helping the
2-7 young people of our state and country, Anthony Hall will be a
2-8 true asset to the Junior Achievement National Board of Directors;
2-9 now, therefore, be it
2-10 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
2-11 74th Legislature, hereby commend Anthony W. Hall, Jr., for
2-12 his dedication and his many accomplishments and extend to him
2-13 congratulations on his election to the board; and, be it further
2-14 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him
2-15 as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
