    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in
    1-3  recognizing Boris Kerzner on his selection for the Gold Award in
    1-4  the Scholastic Writing Awards of 1995 Contest; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, An eighth grader at the Hebrew Academy, Boris is
    1-6  one of the 100 Harris County winners in the contest, which is
    1-7  cosponsored by the Harris County Department of Education; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, He is one of only 12 private school winners in
    1-9  Harris County to receive the top level Gold Award, and his story,
   1-10  "The Vacant Room," has advanced to the national competition; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, A talented and industrious student, Boris is a model
   1-12  for students of all ages in the State of Texas; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, An exemplary young man with an engaging personality,
   1-14  Boris strives for excellence in all of his endeavors and is a source
   1-15  of much pride for his family, his school, and his community; now,
   1-16  therefore, be it
   1-17        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-18  74th Legislature, hereby commend Boris Kerzner for his many
   1-19  accomplishments and extend congratulations to him on earning
   1-20  the Gold Award; and, be it further
   1-21        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   1-22  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
