No. 1013 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure 1-3 in recognizing Elizabeth Morrison for her 16 years of loyal service 1-4 as a schoolteacher with the Lewisville Independent School District 1-5 and her 33 years of service in the field of education; and 1-6 WHEREAS, A talented and hardworking teacher, 1-7 Elizabeth Morrison was formerly employed with the Rolls-Alief 1-8 Independent School District and taught at College Street Elementary 1-9 School where she was named Teacher of the Year; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Since joining Highland Village Elementary School, 1-11 she has had a positive influence on the lives of her students; the 1-12 students in her fourth-grade class have been recognized for their 1-13 outstanding TAAS scores by the State of Texas, and she has helped 1-14 Highland Village Elementary School become the nationally recognized 1-15 Blue Ribbon school it is today; and 1-16 WHEREAS, Devoted to her work, Mrs. Morrison assisted with a 1-17 wide array of student activities over the years and distinguished 1-18 herself in her profession; and 1-19 WHEREAS, Elizabeth Morrison's students greatly benefitted 1-20 from her skillful teaching methods, her sincere concern for the 1-21 individual, and her wise counsel and encouragement; and 1-22 WHEREAS, A dedicated, caring, and resourceful educator, 1-23 Mrs. Morrison instilled in her students an appreciation for hard 2-1 work and a love of challenge and learning; now, therefore, be it 2-2 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-3 74th Legislature, hereby commend Elizabeth Morrison for her many 2-4 contributions to the educational system of Texas and extend best 2-5 wishes to her for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further 2-6 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-7 her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. 2-8 ______________________________________ 2-9 President of the Senate 2-10 I hereby certify that the above 2-11 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-12 on May 10, 1995. 2-13 ______________________________________ 2-14 Secretary of the Senate 2-15 ______________________________________ 2-16 Member, Texas Senate
