    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                            Aaron Donelson
    1-5        WHEREAS, The citizens of Big Spring mourned the passing
    1-6  of one of the city's esteemed residents, Aaron Donelson, who died
    1-7  March 25, 1995, at the age of 90; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, The well-known area farmer will be remembered for
    1-9  his devotion to his family and for his notable contributions to
   1-10  his community; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Aaron was born on November 7, 1904, the beloved
   1-12  son of Robert Lee and Evie Sanders Donelson, in a log cabin in
   1-13  Leon County and moved to Lenorah with his family in 1922 in a
   1-14  covered wagon; they shipped their farm equipment and livestock
   1-15  by train; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Aaron Donelson married Addie Turner in Stanton on
   1-17  August 3, 1935, and the devoted couple enjoyed a long and happy
   1-18  life together before her death on January 19, 1993; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, The successful farmer spent his adult life living
   1-20  in Stanton and farming in the Lomax community until he moved to
   1-21  Big Spring in 1993; a former trustee for the Lomax School, he was
   1-22  a member of the First United Methodist Church in Stanton; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, His wise counsel and sound judgment will be deeply
    2-1  missed and remembered with gratitude by his loved ones and by all
    2-2  those who knew him and benefitted from his contributions; now,
    2-3  therefore, be it
    2-4        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-5  74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
    2-6  bereaved family of Aaron Donelson:  his sons and daughters-in-law,
    2-7  Delbert and Barbara Donelson and Norman and Olivia Donelson; his
    2-8  grandchildren, Gary, Debra, Devin, and Shannon Donelson; his brother,
    2-9  Morris Donelson; and his sister, Mary Thompson; and, be it further
   2-10        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his
   2-11  family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate,
   2-12  and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
   2-13  Aaron Donelson.
