    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, Three years ago, Rollins Environmental Services
    1-3  (TX), Incorporated, offered to assist the State of Texas in the
    1-4  disposal of hazardous chemical waste and other contaminated
    1-5  materials seized by law enforcement officers from clandestine
    1-6  drug laboratories; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, Proper disposal of such waste and related
    1-8  contraband can prove to be very costly and the assistance to law
    1-9  enforcement provided by Rollins Environmental Services has saved
   1-10  the citizens of Texas thousands of tax dollars over the last three
   1-11  years; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Local law enforcement and the various narcotics
   1-13  task forces have been without the funds necessary to package, store,
   1-14  transport, or dispose of hazardous waste when a seizure is made;
   1-15  and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Rollins Environmental Services was sympathetic
   1-17  to the problem presented to it and the company has packaged,
   1-18  transported, and disposed of the materials at no cost to the
   1-19  state or local law enforcement; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, Rollins Environmental Services has an excellent
   1-21  record with the Environmental Protection Agency and is playing
   1-22  a significant role in the capacity assurance plan with the Texas
   1-23  Natural Resource Conservation Commission in disposing of hazardous
    2-1  waste in our state; and
    2-2        WHEREAS, The program outlined by Rollins Environmental
    2-3  Services provides for a one-time clean-out of backlogged inventory,
    2-4  continuous incineration/disposal services, and continuous waste
    2-5  management consultation assistance in the safe and proper handling,
    2-6  consolidation, storage, and disposal of waste materials; and
    2-7        WHEREAS, Rollins Environmental Services has unique
    2-8  capabilities and is performing these services as a public service
    2-9  to the State of Texas; and
   2-10        WHEREAS, The importance of the safe handling of chemical
   2-11  and hazardous waste is vital to the safety and well-being of all
   2-12  the citizens of Texas; now, therefore, be it
   2-13        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-14  74th Legislature, hereby commend the officers and employees of
   2-15  this exceptional company and express its heartfelt appreciation
   2-16  to Rollins Environmental Services (TX), Incorporated, for its
   2-17  magnificent contribution to ensuring the protection and safety
   2-18  of all Texans; and, be it further
   2-19        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-20  the distinguished company as a token of the admiration of the
   2-21  Texas Senate.
