No. 1042 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Texas Senate is proud to honor the Farmers Branch 1-3 and Metrocrest Chambers of Commerce on May 16, 1995, for their 1-4 outstanding civic involvement and their significant contributions 1-5 to the communities of Farmers Branch, Carrollton, and Addison, which 1-6 the chambers represent; and 1-7 WHEREAS, A large number of member companies are working to 1-8 identify and implement programs which will assist in the steady 1-9 and balanced growth of business, industry, and tourism; they have 1-10 already been quite successful; and 1-11 WHEREAS, This success is demonstrated through accreditation 1-12 by the United States Chamber of Commerce, which accredits only 10 1-13 percent of the chambers of commerce in the United States; and 1-14 WHEREAS, The accreditation process shows the stability and 1-15 dependability of the leadership in these two chambers whose 1-16 activities are certainly worthy of legislative recognition; and 1-17 WHEREAS, These chambers have unparalleled cooperation and are 1-18 proud of the collaborative efforts which have developed progressive 1-19 community programs such as the Academic Honor Card Program, The 1-20 Carrollton-Farmers Branch Community Summit, The Texans' War on Drugs 1-21 Red Ribbon Breakfast, the Metrocrest Mayor's Prayer Breakfast, and 1-22 legislative trips to meet with respective representatives and 1-23 communicate the preferences of the business community they represent; 2-1 and 2-2 WHEREAS, These activities and programs would not be possible 2-3 without the dedicated board members, volunteers, and staff who are 2-4 committed to serving the residents and businesses of these affluent 2-5 cities; now, therefore, be it 2-6 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-7 74th Legislature, hereby congratulate the Farmers Branch and 2-8 Metrocrest Chambers of Commerce for their efforts to stimulate 2-9 economic development in their area, to promote mutually beneficial 2-10 interests of business and communities, and to enrich the lives of 2-11 the many residents of the North Dallas area; and, be it further 2-12 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the 2-13 chambers as an expression of the high regard of the Texas Senate. 2-14 ______________________________________ 2-15 President of the Senate 2-16 I hereby certify that the above 2-17 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-18 on May 16, 1995. 2-19 ______________________________________ 2-20 Secretary of the Senate 2-21 ______________________________________ 2-22 Member, Texas Senate 2-23 ______________________________________ 2-24 Member, Texas Senate
