    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to honor
    1-3  H. Ed Hogan, Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Crockett, Texas,
    1-4  on the momentous occasion of receiving his Doctor of Ministry
    1-5  degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Born on August 15, 1960, he earned his bachelor of
    1-7  arts degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1981 and
    1-8  his Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist
    1-9  Theological Seminary in 1986; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Inspirational and caring, he was licensed to the
   1-11  Ministry by Mobberly Baptist Church in Longview, Texas, in 1980
   1-12  and ordained to the Ministry by Mobberly Baptist Church in 1984;
   1-13  and
   1-14        WHEREAS, H. Ed Hogan married Marion Head on July 7, 1984,
   1-15  and the devoted couple was blessed with a son, Matthew, born on
   1-16  April 7, 1989, and a daughter, Amanda, born on November 1, 1990;
   1-17  and
   1-18        WHEREAS, Possessed of a fine Christian character,
   1-19  Pastor Hogan has offered comfort and solace to those in need
   1-20  with generosity of spirit and deep compassion; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, He has served the spiritual needs of many
   1-22  communities that have included:  Mansfield, Texas, where he
   1-23  was Minister of Music and Youth at Friendship Baptist Church;
    2-1  Fort Worth, Texas, where he was Class Outreach Leader of the
    2-2  Seminary Sunday School Class of Travis Avenue Baptist Church;
    2-3  Groom, Texas, where he was the Pastor of the First Baptist
    2-4  Church; and Crockett, Texas, where he is Pastor of the
    2-5  First Baptist Church; and
    2-6        WHEREAS, Pastor Hogan is recognized for his ability to
    2-7  inspire others to achievements and devotion to the church, and
    2-8  the members of his church are happy to commemorate the special
    2-9  occasion of his receiving his doctorate; now, therefore, be it
   2-10        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-11  74th Legislature, hereby congratulate Pastor H. Ed Hogan on his
   2-12  signal achievement; and, be it further
   2-13        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-14  him as an expression of the highest esteem and regard of the
   2-15  Texas Senate.
