    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                              Bob Badgett
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
    1-6  of Lubbock in mourning the death of one of the city's esteemed
    1-7  residents, Bob Badgett, who died April 26, 1995, at the age of 66;
    1-8  and
    1-9        WHEREAS, The well-known insurance underwriter will be
   1-10  remembered for his integrity in his professional life and for his
   1-11  devotion to his family and friends; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Born in Breckenridge, Texas, on July 6, 1928, Bob
   1-13  was a graduate of Lubbock High School and Texas Tech University
   1-14  where he earned a degree in petroleum geology; a veteran of the
   1-15  Korean conflict, he served his country with honor as a member of
   1-16  the United States Air Force; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, On June 8, 1954, Bob Badgett and Mary Allen Jones
   1-18  were married in Selma, Alabama, and the devoted couple became the
   1-19  parents of a son and daughter; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, An agent with State Farm Insurance Company,
   1-21  Mr. Badgett was a certified life underwriter and operated
   1-22  Bob Badgett Insurance Agency; he was respected by his colleagues
   1-23  for his notable contributions to his profession; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, A devout Christian layman who served his fellowman
    2-2  in his daily life, Bob Badgett was a member of the First United
    2-3  Methodist Church and was a Scottish Rite Mason; and
    2-4        WHEREAS, His wise counsel and sound judgment will be deeply
    2-5  missed and remembered with gratitude by his family and all who
    2-6  were privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it
    2-7        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-8  74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the family
    2-9  of Bob Badgett:  his wife, Mary; his son, Scott Allen; his daughter,
   2-10  Laura Louise Sims; and his two grandchildren; and, be it further
   2-11        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
   2-12  members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
   2-13  Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so
   2-14  in memory of Bob Badgett.
