No. 1054 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to 1-3 recognize Vircenoy Baker Macatee who is the outgoing president of 1-4 the Comanche Peak Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas; 1-5 and 1-6 WHEREAS, This energetic lady was the local founder and 1-7 promoter of the Comanche Peak Chapter of the Daughters of the 1-8 Republic of Texas in Granbury, Texas; and 1-9 WHEREAS, A preserver of Texas fact and lore, she has worked 1-10 extensively to develop and contribute to programs that promote our 1-11 Texas culture; and 1-12 WHEREAS, She has served her community and state by restoring 1-13 Texas relics and archives, and she has discovered a great deal of 1-14 "lost" Texas history; and 1-15 WHEREAS, A dedicated and responsible woman, Vircenoy Macatee 1-16 functions as a guardian who helps to prevent changes in the true 1-17 history of our great State of Texas; and 1-18 WHEREAS, Her exemplary devotion to the history of Texas shows 1-19 in her work to conserve local historical monuments and memorabilia; 1-20 and 1-21 WHEREAS, This illustrious lady is an avid suppporter of the 1-22 Lone Star State with all its unique history, tradition, and 1-23 grandeur; now, therefore, be it 2-1 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-2 74th Legislature, hereby commend Vircenoy Baker Macatee for her 2-3 devotion and contributions to the history of the State of Texas and 2-4 commend her on her outstanding term of service as president of the 2-5 Comanche Peak Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas; 2-6 and, be it further 2-7 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her 2-8 as an expression of the high regard and esteem of the Texas Senate. 2-9 ______________________________________ 2-10 President of the Senate 2-11 I hereby certify that the above 2-12 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-13 on May 12, 1995. 2-14 ______________________________________ 2-15 Secretary of the Senate 2-16 ______________________________________ 2-17 Member, Texas Senate
