    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                           Lillie Lee Turner
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
    1-6  citizens of Pasadena in mourning the loss of Lillie Lee Turner
    1-7  who died April 20, 1995, at the age of 84; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Mrs. Turner was a devout Christian who lived her
    1-9  faith in her daily life and was a charter member of South Main
   1-10  Baptist Church in Pasadena; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Lillie Lee Turner was a devoted wife, mother,
   1-12  grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she will be remembered for
   1-13  the affection, confidence, and loyalty she inspired in those with
   1-14  whom she was associated; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, She was a woman who loved laughter, enjoyed having
   1-16  children in the house, loved to work in the garden, had great
   1-17  patience, and was dedicated to perfection; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, This distinguished lady had grace and style;
   1-19  she taught her family strength of character and imparted a high
   1-20  standard of values to her children and grandchildren without even
   1-21  knowing that she was teaching because she taught by example; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, She was devoted to her husband of 67 years; her
   1-23  family could see how daily devotion and respect contributed to
    2-1  a lasting marriage; and
    2-2        WHEREAS, During her lifetime she established a permanent
    2-3  place for herself in the hearts of those whom she loved; now,
    2-4  therefore, be it
    2-5        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-6  74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
    2-7  members of her family:  her husband, Rufus Turner, Sr.; her
    2-8  son, Rufus Turner, Jr.; her daughter, Carrie Ballard; and her
    2-9  five grandchildren; her three great-grandchildren, and
   2-10  great-great-grandchild; and, be it further
   2-11        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-12  her loved ones as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
   2-13  Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do
   2-14  so in memory of Lillie Lee Turner.
