    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in
    1-3  recognizing Tahoka High School's theatre company on its outstanding
    1-4  performance in the 1995 University Interscholastic League One Act
    1-5  Play Contest; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, West Texas is considered one of the strongest
    1-7  areas of Texas in One Act Play and University Interscholastic
    1-8  League Academics, and Tahoka High School's District 4AA has sent
    1-9  a winning play to the state contest 11 of the past 12 years; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Since 1976, Tahoka High School's entry in the
   1-11  University Interscholastic League One Act Play Contest has won
   1-12  district or alternate nine times; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, The year 1995, however, proved to be a
   1-14  record-setting year, and the school's play won district, area,
   1-15  and Region I; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, The play was "The Imaginary Invalid" by
   1-17  Jean Baptiste Moliere, and all of the actors, members of the crew,
   1-18  the set designer, the director, and assistant directors deserve
   1-19  credit for an excellent performance; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, This year's theatre company is the first in the
   1-21  history of Tahoka High School to advance to the state contest,
   1-22  and the talented individuals responsible for the play's success
   1-23  are the following:  the director, Leah Taylor; the assistant
    2-1  directors, Suette Green and Chloie Jan Wells; the set designer,
    2-2  Julia Gill; the crew, Steve Wiseman, Marisa Martin, Robbie Webster,
    2-3  and Shawn Brewer; and the actors, Jeremy Brandon, Abby Wells,
    2-4  Robin Martin, Susan Draper, Ashley Abell, Clay Taylor, Blanda Miller,
    2-5  Wesley Solomon, Georgia Williams, Abbie Gill, Gary Gandy, and
    2-6  Kris Wood; now, therefore, be it
    2-7        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-8  74th Legislature, hereby commend Tahoka High School's theatre
    2-9  company on its outstanding year and extend congratulations to
   2-10  the director and to all who participated in the play on winning
   2-11  district, area, and Region I; and, be it further
   2-12        RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-13  Tahoka High School as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
