1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION
1-2 In Memory
1-3 of
1-4 Nancy Lee Watts
1-5 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the family,
1-6 friends, and co-workers of Nancy Lee Watts of Austin in mourning
1-7 her death on September 14, 1994; and
1-8 WHEREAS, Born on November 17, 1945, Nancy Lee was first
1-9 and foremost a devoted wife and mother; she inspired affection,
1-10 confidence, and loyalty in those who knew and cherished her; and
1-11 WHEREAS, A woman of deep religious convictions, she lived
1-12 her faith in her daily life; she and her husband were active
1-13 members of Bannockburn Baptist Church; and
1-14 WHEREAS, Her genuine warmth and good humor will be greatly
1-15 missed by her innumerable friends; and
1-16 WHEREAS, A dedicated and diligent employee, she worked
1-17 for the State Board of Insurance from September, 1989, until her
1-18 death; her co-workers will always remember her as an exemplary
1-19 and industrious employee who performed her duties with precision
1-20 and a positive attitude; and
1-21 WHEREAS, Nancy Lee was well known for her empathy and her
1-22 ability to really listen to what others had to say; she was always
1-23 ready with a sympathetic ear to listen and to offer what comfort
2-1 she could; and
2-2 WHEREAS, This delightful lady will be remembered for her
2-3 sense of humor, her grin, and the way her face would light up
2-4 when the name of her granddaughter was mentioned; and
2-5 WHEREAS, Daily she lifted the hearts of her family and
2-6 friends with her bountiful spirit and enormous courage; her
2-7 memory will be preserved forever in the hearts of her friends
2-8 and loved ones; now, therefore, be it
2-9 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
2-10 74th Legislature, hereby honor the memory of Nancy Lee Watts
2-11 and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: her
2-12 husband, Ron Watts; her daughters, Laura Jorgensen and Carol Watts;
2-13 her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John C. Taylor; her sisters, Beth, Kay,
2-14 and Lisa; her brother, Johnny; and her beloved granddaughter; and,
2-15 be it further
2-16 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2-17 the members of her family as an expression of sincere sympathy,
2-18 and when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
2-19 Nancy Lee Watts.
