    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                           Clifford Stiegler
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
    1-6  of Port Lavaca in mourning the death of esteemed resident
    1-7  Clifford Stiegler; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Clifford Stiegler grew up on a farm in the German
    1-9  community of Hondo, Texas; he became an outstanding athlete
   1-10  during his high school years and he attended Trinity University
   1-11  in San Antonio; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Mr. Stiegler was dedicated to his work as a
   1-13  switchman at the Southern Pacific Railroad for 35 years; he
   1-14  also devoted countless hours to his favorite hobby, gardening; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, Highly respected in the community for his numerous
   1-16  accomplishments, Clifford Stiegler was an exemplary gentleman; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, He and his wife, LaDelle Stiegler, were married for
   1-18  nearly 60 years, and their long and happy union was inspirational
   1-19  to others; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, Mr. Stiegler was a devout Christian who consistently
   1-21  manifested a strong belief in God; he was a member of First United
   1-22  Methodist Church; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, A man of exceptional integrity, strength, and
    2-1  generosity, he gave unselfishly of his time to others, and his
    2-2  wisdom, warmth, and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those
    2-3  who knew him; and
    2-4        WHEREAS, Clifford Stiegler was a devoted husband, father, and
    2-5  grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured
    2-6  forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
    2-7        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-8  74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
    2-9  family of Clifford Stiegler:  his wife, LaDelle Stiegler; his
   2-10  daughter, Beverly Parker; his son, Ronnie Stiegler; his sisters,
   2-11  Jeanette Strickland and Vernelle Conner; and his five grandchildren
   2-12  and two great-grandchildren; and, be it further
   2-13        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
   2-14  members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from
   2-15  the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it
   2-16  do so in memory of Clifford Stiegler.
