    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is especially
    1-3  pleased to express its appreciation to Betty Tackett of Huntsville
    1-4  who is retiring as Walker County District Clerk after 18 years of
    1-5  loyal service with the office; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Mrs. Tackett faithfully served the citizens of Texas
    1-7  for 40 years and displayed the highest degree of professionalism
    1-8  while setting standards of excellence for others to follow; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, During her tenure as District Clerk of Walker County,
   1-10  she masterminded and maintained an efficiently run office on limited
   1-11  funds and worked well with the public; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Her infectious high spirits and warm personality
   1-13  have earned her the respect and friendship of her devoted staff who
   1-14  have appreciated her concern for and consideration of them; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, Betty Tackett has spent the majority of her life
   1-16  working for municipalities; she was employed in the Nueces County
   1-17  courthouse for 18 years, the municipal court for four years, and
   1-18  the Walker County District Clerk's office for 18 years; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, The State of Texas has benefitted immeasurably from
   1-20  the wisdom and expertise of this exceptional public servant; she
   1-21  will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasurable experience of
   1-22  working with her; now, therefore, be it
   1-23        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-1  74th Legislature, hereby express its gratitude to Betty Tackett
    2-2  and extend best wishes to her for a most rewarding and enjoyable
    2-3  retirement; and, be it further
    2-4        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
    2-5  as an expression of the high esteem of the Texas Senate.
