No. 1123 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to 1-3 recognize William Jess Miller, who is retiring after three years 1-4 of loyal service as principal at Crockett High School and 33 years 1-5 of service in the field of education; and 1-6 WHEREAS, William Miller began his successful career 1-7 in education as a teacher and counselor with the Goose Creek 1-8 Independent School District; he then served as an administrator 1-9 for 17 years, the last three of which were with the Crockett 1-10 Independent School District; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Under Mr. Miller's superior leadership, the students 1-12 at Crockett High School improved their achievement levels and raised 1-13 their TAAS scores; and 1-14 WHEREAS, William Miller's talents in the areas of instruction 1-15 and administration have long been admired by fellow educators, and 1-16 he was well known for giving generously of his time and energy to 1-17 helping his students; and 1-18 WHEREAS, Hardworking and resourceful, Mr. Miller skillfully 1-19 handled the complexities and far-reaching responsibilities of a 1-20 principal's position, and his presence at Crockett High School will 1-21 be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-23 74th Legislature, hereby express sincere appreciation to 2-1 William Jess Miller for his notable achievements and his years of 2-2 dedication to the field of education; and, be it further 2-3 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him 2-4 as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. 2-5 ______________________________________ 2-6 President of the Senate 2-7 I hereby certify that the above 2-8 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-9 on May 19, 1995. 2-10 ______________________________________ 2-11 Secretary of the Senate 2-12 ______________________________________ 2-13 Member, Texas Senate
