    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                          Thomas L. Montford
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
    1-6  of Bedford in mourning the loss of Thomas L. Montford, who died
    1-7  February 9, 1994, at the age of 79; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Born in 1915, Thomas Montford was married to his
    1-9  wife, Jewelle C. Montford, for 58 years; the couple had one son,
   1-10  State Senator John T. Montford, and two daughters, Jo Helen Rosacker
   1-11  and Bettye Edgington; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Mr. Montford was dedicated to his work as a
   1-13  facilities and maintenance planner with American Airlines until
   1-14  his retirement; he was a member of the American Airlines Three
   1-15  Diamond Society; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Respected for his numerous accomplishments,
   1-17  Thomas Montford was an exemplary and distinguished gentleman; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, A well-known community leader and a devout
   1-19  Christian, he was a member of the Tarrant Masonic Lodge and
   1-20  was Past Master of the Hurst Masonic Lodge; he was a member of
   1-21  Saint Philip Presbyterian Church of Hurst; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, A man of great personal honesty, compassion, and
   1-23  generosity, he gave unselfishly of his time to others, and his
    2-1  wisdom, warmth, and sense of humor will not be forgotten by those
    2-2  who knew him; and
    2-3        WHEREAS, Thomas Montford was a devoted husband, father, and
    2-4  grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured
    2-5  forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
    2-6        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-7  74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
    2-8  family of Thomas L. Montford:  his wife, Jewelle C. Montford; his
    2-9  son, John T. Montford; his daughters, Jo Helen Rosacker and
   2-10  Bettye Edgington; his sisters, Lalla Crawford, Lucile Thomas,
   2-11  and Mary Jane Hartsell; and his eight grandchildren and one
   2-12  great-grandchild; and, be it further
   2-13        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
   2-14  members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from
   2-15  the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it
   2-16  do so in memory of Thomas L. Montford.
