No. 1139 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 In Memory 1-3 of 1-4 Emma Huerta 1-5 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens 1-6 of Hebbronville in mourning the loss of Emma Huerta who died 1-7 March 20, 1995, at the age of 74; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Born November 17, 1920, in Randado, Texas, 1-9 Emma Huerta was the daughter of Juan and Ernestina R. Huerta; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Emma Huerta was dedicated to her work as a 1-11 schoolteacher with the Jim Hogg County Independent School District 1-12 where she worked for 41 years; and 1-13 WHEREAS, An exemplary and distinguished lady, Miss Huerta was 1-14 respected in the community for her many accomplishments; and 1-15 WHEREAS, A woman of integrity, strength, and generosity, she 1-16 gave unselfishly of her time to others, and her wisdom, warmth, 1-17 and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew her; 1-18 and 1-19 WHEREAS, A devout Christian, she was a member of the Catholic 1-20 Daughters of America; and 1-21 WHEREAS, Emma Huerta lived her life to the fullest, and she 1-22 leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by her family 1-23 and many friends; now, therefore, be it 2-1 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-2 74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the 2-3 bereaved family of Emma Huerta: her sisters, Eva Doerfler and 2-4 Mercedes Garcia; and her three nieces, two nephews, and seven 2-5 grandnieces and grandnephews; and, be it further 2-6 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the 2-7 members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the 2-8 Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so 2-9 in memory of Emma Huerta. 2-10 ______________________________________ 2-11 President of the Senate 2-12 I hereby certify that the above 2-13 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-14 on May 22, 1995, by a rising vote. 2-15 ______________________________________ 2-16 Secretary of the Senate 2-17 ______________________________________ 2-18 Member, Texas Senate
