    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in
    1-3  recognizing Karen Gregory of Nacogdoches who is graduating summa
    1-4  cum laude from Stephen F. Austin State University; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, A graduate of Nacogdoches High School, Karen Gregory
    1-6  is receiving a bachelor of arts degree with a major in political
    1-7  science and a minor in speech communication; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, A remarkable student, Karen is graduating with a 4.0
    1-9  grade point average and has been named to the president's all "A"
   1-10  honor roll seven times; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Karen is an exemplary young lady who establishes
   1-12  her goals and pursues them with perseverance and clear-sightedness;
   1-13  she is receiving the S. A. and Frankie Zou Kerr Award in the
   1-14  Stephen F. Austin College of Liberal Arts for the 1994-1995 year;
   1-15  she has also been named Miss Stephen F. Austin for 1995; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, A student of many talents and interests, she has
   1-17  served as president of the Delta Delta Delta sorority and is a
   1-18  member of the Pre-Law Club and Order of Omega Honor Society; she
   1-19  was named Senator of the Year by the Student Government Association
   1-20  and was selected as "Miss Greek" during the 1995 Greek Week; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, Miss Gregory intends to be an attorney and will be
   1-22  attending The University of Texas School of Law this fall; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, Karen Gregory's notable accomplishments are evidence
    2-1  of her hard work and outstanding abilities, and she is a source of
    2-2  much pride to her family and her community; now, therefore, be it
    2-3        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-4  74th Legislature, hereby commend Karen Gregory for graduating
    2-5  summa cum laude and extend to her best wishes for the years ahead
    2-6  at The University of Texas School of Law; and, be it further
    2-7        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
    2-8  as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
