    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                             Bob J. McMinn
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the family
    1-6  and friends of Bob J. McMinn in mourning the loss of this native
    1-7  son of Lubbock, who died Monday, May 8, 1995, at the age of 48;
    1-8  and
    1-9        WHEREAS, An outstanding civic leader, Mr. McMinn was a
   1-10  graduate of Monterey High School and went on to higher education
   1-11  at Texas Tech University; he was a proud veteran of the
   1-12  United States Navy; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, A man of strong Christian faith and traditional
   1-14  family values, he was a member of Saint Luke's United Methodist
   1-15  Church; Bob McMinn was married to Billie Alley on January 21, 1984,
   1-16  in Lubbock; this devoted couple raised two sons and two daughters
   1-17  within their warm circle of fellowship and friends old and new,
   1-18  giving unstintingly of their friendship and support and providing
   1-19  a positive influence on the lives of countless people; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, Mr. McMinn made time amidst his arduous working
   1-21  hours and the demands of daily life to strive to bolster Lubbock
   1-22  through service to the community in the Lion's Club, where he
   1-23  served as secretary-treasurer; he served on the Lubbock Independent
    2-1  School District Adopt-A-School Board, and he was a board member of
    2-2  the Caprock Neighborhood Association; he was particularly devoted
    2-3  to the welfare of children, spending many hours on issues of
    2-4  education and well-being for youth; he made a significant
    2-5  impression on others in all his endeavors for his fairness,
    2-6  friendliness, and perseverance; his absence will be keenly felt;
    2-7  and
    2-8        WHEREAS, Bob McMinn was a man of unquestioned ability and
    2-9  integrity, whose work career spanned several significant Lubbock
   2-10  organizations:  National Cash Register, the City of Lubbock,
   2-11  Clark Equipment Company, and E.D.S., and all those who knew him
   2-12  appreciated his loyalty, determination, optimism, and teamwork;
   2-13  now, therefore, be it
   2-14        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-15  74th Legislature, hereby express sincere condolences to the
   2-16  members of his family:  his wife, Billie; his daughters, Kristen
   2-17  and Marnie; his sons, Jarrod and Alex; his parents, B. C. McMinn
   2-18  and Bettye McMinn; and his sister, Lee Ann Jackson; and, be it
   2-19  further
   2-20        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his
   2-21  family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate,
   2-22  and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
   2-23  Bob J. McMinn.
