    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The young Ewell and Bettye Smith of Rockwall
    1-3  placed great faith and trust in the future when they married on
    1-4  May 13, 1945, and they have been amply rewarded as they recently
    1-5  celebrated their golden wedding anniversary; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during the
    1-7  years of their marriage, yet Mr. and Mrs. Smith have steadfastly
    1-8  embraced traditional family and moral values; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Over the years, they have grown stronger in
   1-10  their love and devotion as together they have experienced the
   1-11  joys and sorrows of everyday living; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Smith shared their happiness
   1-13  with their family and friends at a festive celebration on
   1-14  May 13, 1995, at the Heath Community Center; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, The long and happy union of Mr. and Mrs. Smith
   1-16  is truly an inspiration to us all; now, therefore, be it
   1-17        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-18  74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to
   1-19  Mr. and Mrs. Ewell Smith on their 50th wedding anniversary;
   1-20  and, be it further
   1-21        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   1-22  this distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in
   1-23  their lives.
