1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION
1-2 WHEREAS, June 23, 1995, will be a day long remembered and
1-3 cherished by Mr. and Mrs. Harold D. Eakman of San Angelo for on
1-4 that day they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary; and
1-5 WHEREAS, Chick and Ouida Eakman were married on June 23, 1945,
1-6 in San Antonio; and
1-7 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Eakman have always shared the trust
1-8 and honesty that are the cornerstones of a successful marriage; and
1-9 WHEREAS, The world has changed greatly during their marriage,
1-10 yet Chick and Ouida have remained steadfast in traditional family
1-11 and moral values; and
1-12 WHEREAS, Through the years, they have grown ever stronger in
1-13 love and devotion as together they have experienced the joys and
1-14 sorrows of everyday living; and
1-15 WHEREAS, They have been blessed with a wonderful family;
1-16 their children, Doug Eakman and Ava Clark, and their three
1-17 grandchildren, Leslie Eakman, Chad Houston, and Chase Houston
1-18 have been the source of much pride and joy; and
1-19 WHEREAS, In commemoration of this milestone in their lives,
1-20 the distinguished couple was honored on June 2, 1995, with a
1-21 party hosted by their children and grandchildren; and
1-22 WHEREAS, The long and happy union of Mr. and Mrs. Eakman
1-23 is truly an inspiration to us all; now, therefore, be it
2-1 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
2-2 74th Legislature, hereby congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Harold D. Eakman
2-3 on their 50th wedding anniversary with best wishes for many more
2-4 years of continued happiness; and, be it further
2-5 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2-6 Mr. and Mrs. Eakman as a memento of this special day in their lives.
