    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
    1-3  recognize Linda Sheppard, who received an award at the second
    1-4  annual Education Appreciation Banquet sponsored by the Houston
    1-5  County Chamber of Commerce on April 21, 1995; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Speaker at the banquet was retired United States
    1-7  Army Colonel Howard Daniel, Jr., owner of Personal Development
    1-8  Specialist Company of Livingston, who told the audience that
    1-9  today's young people need teachers to be role models and to
   1-10  give students more positive reinforcement now than ever before;
   1-11  and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Linda Sheppard was honored at the awards ceremonies
   1-13  in recognition of her exceptional devotion to her profession; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, The students of the Kennard Independent School
   1-15  District have benefitted immeasurably from the caring spirit of
   1-16  this dynamic educator who has given generously of her time and
   1-17  talent; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, Linda is a talented instructor and leader, and
   1-19  she instills in her students a sense of pride and a lifelong love
   1-20  of learning; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, An exceptionally resourceful and dedicated teacher,
   1-22  Linda Sheppard is an enthusiastic educator who has distinguished
   1-23  herself in her profession and who has imparted to her students
    2-1  the skills necessary for competing in tomorrow's society; now,
    2-2  therefore, be it
    2-3        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-4  74th Legislature, hereby commend Linda Sheppard of Kennard for
    2-5  her contributions to the educational system of Texas and extend
    2-6  congratulations to her on receiving this distinguished award;
    2-7  and, be it further
    2-8        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
    2-9  as an expression of the high regard and esteem of the Texas Senate.
