No. 1179 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, May 6, 1995, will be a day long remembered and 1-3 cherished by Pat and Jake Stephens of Robertson County for on that 1-4 day they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Pat and Jake were married on April 26, 1945, in 1-6 Tulsa, Oklahoma; and 1-7 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Stephens have always shared the trust 1-8 and honesty that are the cornerstones of a successful marriage; and 1-9 WHEREAS, The world has changed greatly during their marriage, 1-10 yet Jake and Pat have remained steadfast in traditional family and 1-11 moral values; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Through the years, these splendid partners have 1-13 grown ever stronger in love and devotion as together they have 1-14 experienced the joys and sorrows of everyday living; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Pat and Jake have been blessed with a wonderful 1-16 family: their children, Linda Arnold and Walter Stephens; their 1-17 grandchildren, Michael Eilers, Joyce McClennan, Charlotte Cook, 1-18 Patricia Korngay, Melanie Starkey, and Brian and Brandy Stephens; 1-19 and their great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Steven, Lacy, and 1-20 Richard Eilers, Kristen McClellan, Natalie and Alysa Korngay, and 1-21 Marissa Starkey; and 1-22 WHEREAS, In commemoration of this milestone in their lives 1-23 the distinguished couple was honored on May 6, 1995, with a gala 2-1 celebration at Elliott Baptist Church; and 2-2 WHEREAS, The long and happy union of Mr. and Mrs. Stephens 2-3 is truly an inspiration to us all; now, therefore, be it 2-4 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-5 74th Legislature, hereby congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Jake Stephens 2-6 on their 50th wedding anniversary with best wishes for many more 2-7 years of continued happiness; and, be it further 2-8 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for this 2-9 exceptional couple as a memento of this special day in their lives. 2-10 ______________________________________ 2-11 President of the Senate 2-12 I hereby certify that the above 2-13 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-14 on May 24, 1995. 2-15 ______________________________________ 2-16 Secretary of the Senate 2-17 ______________________________________ 2-18 Member, Texas Senate
