     1-10     Civil Statutes), to read as follows:
     1-11                 "(4)  a <(c)  A>  railroad engine approaching within
     1-12     approximately fifteen hundred (1500) feet of the highway crossing
     1-13     emits a signal audible from such distance and such engine by reason
     1-14     of its speed or nearness to such crossing is an immediate hazard;
     1-15     or
     1-16                 (5)  an <(d)  An> approaching railroad train is plainly
     1-17     visible and <is> in hazardous proximity to such crossing."
     1-18           This action is necessary to protect the lives of drivers of
     1-19     motor vehicles at certain railroad crossings in this state.
