    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to
    1-3  recognize Judith Moreno for her outstanding work in the office
    1-4  of Senator Mario Gallegos; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, This socially committed student was a participant
    1-6  in the Texas Legislative Internship Program sponsored by the
    1-7  Mickey Leland Center on World Hunger and Peace at Texas Southern
    1-8  University; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, This excellent internship program, established in
   1-10  December of 1990, provides a unique opportunity for minority
   1-11  students of Texas colleges and universities to serve as interns
   1-12  in the Texas Legislature and at various state agencies; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, Students receive academic credit for participating
   1-14  in the program, which combines academic study and research with
   1-15  supervised practical training; Senator Rodney Ellis serves as a
   1-16  program advisor, and the Senator's office assists with coordinating
   1-17  the on-site activities; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, As an intern, Judith has gained firsthand knowledge
   1-19  of the governmental process and work experience in a political
   1-20  environment, as well as insight into the issues facing our
   1-21  communities and our state today; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, A diligent, resourceful, and talented young
   1-23  Texan, she skillfully handled the multifaceted duties of the
    2-1  representative's office and ably assisted with the needs of
    2-2  constituents; now, therefore, be it
    2-3        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-4  74th Legislature, hereby commend Judith Moreno for her
    2-5  exceptional contributions to the office of Senator Gallegos
    2-6  and extend best wishes to her for the future; and, be it further
    2-7        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-8  Judith as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
