    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased
    1-3  and proud to congratulate Cryovac of Iowa Park, Texas, on the
    1-4  auspicious occasion of its 20th anniversary; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, The plant, which manufactures plastic packaging for
    1-6  perishable foods, has grown from 155 employees to 800 employees
    1-7  since it opened in May, 1975; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Cryovac, a division of W. R. Grace and Company, has
    1-9  its headquarters in Duncan, South Carolina; the Iowa Park facility
   1-10  has an annual payroll of $37 million and is the second largest
   1-11  W. R. Grace packaging facility; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Cryovac corporate officials, employees,
   1-13  and community leaders attended a celebratory breakfast at the
   1-14  Wichita Falls Sheraton on May 22, 1995; employees who worked for
   1-15  the company for 20 years were recognized; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, The breakfast also showed appreciation to the
   1-17  community for the support it has shown for the company over the
   1-18  years; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, Cryovac has a $100 million investment in Iowa Park
   1-20  which it anticipates will double by the year 2000; the company
   1-21  also pays $100 million annually in property tax; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, President Bill Sturgis said that much of the growth
   1-23  of the company was attributable to the hard work of the employees;
    2-1  he gave credit to a strong attitude about learning and personal
    2-2  growth which has made it easy for Cryovac to change with the times
    2-3  and improve its business product over the years; and
    2-4        WHEREAS, The company has brought a high level of technical
    2-5  employees to the area and it is committed to ongoing investments
    2-6  in research, technology, and training; now, therefore, be it
    2-7        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-8  74th Legislature, hereby commend and applaud the 20th anniversary
    2-9  of Cryovac of Iowa Park, Texas; and, be it further
   2-10        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
   2-11  company as an expression of the high regard and esteem of the
   2-12  Texas Senate.
